The watch is manufactured in a 14 KT yellow gold, round, one piece case. The movement itself is fully automatic and shock proof, containing 25 jewels. The purpose of a one piece case is that without a removal back, it is that much more water and dust resistant. The most collectible aspect of this watch would be the Canadian Commemorative dial. Most likely what happened here was the Canadian tourist board contracted Gruen to have them produce a watch commemorating their 100th anniversary. The dial is original in satin off white with the Canadian Centennial logo just above the 6 o’clock position. The full model name, Precision Autowind, is printed just below the 12 o’clock position. The markers are hash lines and there are arrow shaped markers at the 3,6,9 and 12. The Canadian Commemorative logo looks very much like a segmented maple leaf and is in gold foil with 1867 1967 printed in red below it. Lastly, the hands are simple broad spade hands and there is a full sized sweep second hand. This watch measures 33mm’s in diameter
This watch would be perfect for a Canadian resident or simply a rare watch collector. It is a piece of history, and it is all original.
Note: I could not find much information on this watch, but it would be perfect for a Canadian resident. Runs great and excellent quality at a great price point!
