Model: Mens Museum Model Movado in 14Kt Gold
Production Date: 1990s
This Watch is SOLD
This modern men's Movado Museum model is, arguably, the most popular and most recognizable of the Movado brand. This particular Museum model is in a 14kt yellow gold case with attached black crocodile band, lightly padded and with a non-genuine buckle. The Movado Museum watch model has a black, numberless dial, and is adorned only with a single dot at 12 o'clock. The dial has only very small print beneath the 6 o’clock position, reading Movado Swiss Zenith. The hands are original matched spades, traditional to the Museum model. The case itself is totally round in shape and moderately heavy in all 14kt yellow gold, refinished to remove blemishes or scratches. The movement contains 17 jewels and is ultra high grade, manual wind, with calibre number 1730 and recently serviced. The case back has no serial numbers, but is stamped on the inside, Zenith Swiss 14Kt., and the crown is genuine Movado. The exact manufacture date of this watch is unavailable as Movado did not publish serial number runs for their watches. However, I estimated a date of 1990’s based on the technology implemented in the movement, and overall styling.
This model of vintage Movado is extremely recognizable, as well as very elegant. It would be most suited for dress purposes or for the professional, as this clean black dial lends itself well to any fashion.
